The buds hurt when inside my ears, buts thats' probably cause I have small ear canals which means not the best headphones for long listening sections, or for persons with small ears.
On the good side
These can handle plenty of bass. The sound and built quality its good for the price (I paid around $9 plus shipping)
I'm wrote this review after listening to both the Hd555 and philips.
While wearing these phillips I tweaked my mp3 player built-in 5 band equalizer, to work for most music types | 0| |+3| |-2| | 0| | 0|.
After the tweaking I managed to achieve sound quality as good, if not better than my hd555s :)

I use these headphones with my iPod Shuffle in the gym when lifting weights. They have excellent sound; stay firmly in my ears; and don't pull or otherwise distract me when benching, squatting, doing lunges, etc.
MUCH better than the iPod earbuds that come with the iPod. I bought three pairs of these, as I lost the first pair owned and never want to be without them, in case they're discontinued. Cheers!

These earphones are great. This is my 2nd pair (I stepped on the 1st pair on accident) and I love them. Although they are so great, after very long use, they hurt the insided of my ear so maybe the buds would be more comfortable. If anyone has tried those, please let me know how the feel. Now, I've used these earphones running, working out, and even while riding my motorcycle with my helmet on and they stay in place. I wouldn't say my ears are large, probably normal size so I wouldn't know how they would work out for those with smaller ears. Overall, these are a great pair of earphones especially for the cost.

These headphones last a really long time and are capable of enduring a lot of being beat around. They are extremely comfortable and stay in your ears without a problem. They are the best all around workout headphones I've ever owned, this was my second pair of these. My first pair lasted me about 4 years, and I used them daily during workouts during my collegiate wrestling career and in the off season as well. They just now started to malfunction after obtaining a cut in the line that prevents one side from functioning correctly.
