"Great for running, Bad for lounging" 2009-12-02
By Leela (Oakdale, NY United States)
I bought these headphones to replace my old pair of behind-the-head headphones because the wire connection wore down. I read all the reviews and thought, "oh well, they look pretty good" but now that I have them, I dont think I would buy them again. I bought them mainly for the purpose of working out AND for when I'm doing school work sitting at the computer. I've worn them running and they are great for that because you can remove the pads to wash them --my face/ears do get sweaty-- and they don't move or bounce around at all and have reflectors which is really great for running outside. However, I use these more when I'm sitting at a desk. I can't wear them for too long because they hurt my head. I also wear glasses sometimes and they are impossible to wear with my glasses. I have to put the headphones on and THEN put my glasses over them and even then its just too much stuff behind my ear. And along with everyone else, they hurt. After wearing them for about an hour, I have to take them off.

Overall, great if you aren't wearing them for too long with the purpose of running; bad if wearing them for longer periods of time...but at least the sound quality is good.

"Great headphones, my favorite style" 2009-12-01

I don't like headphones messing up my spikey hair, so these headphones are perfect. You can run with them and not worry at all about them falling off. The sound quality is great and stay comfortable even after several hours of use. My head is on the small size for a male adult and they fit me great.

 "Terrible" 2009-11-18

Earlier this fall, I was shopping around at the mall for a new pair of headphones for my iPod. I came across the Sony MDR-G57G S2 and decided to give them a whirl. Now I wish I didn't. While the sound quality wasn't bad (I've heard better from other Sony ear/headphones that I have owned in the past), the comfort was a huge epic fail on Sony's part. I know the design was to make the headphones was to be more snug for active users with the extra ear pieces but apparently the people who designed that feature never had to wear them for more than five minutes. I have gone back to Phillips earphones that slides over my ears which I find a lot more freedom and comfort than this rancid headset from Sony. The sound quality is better to in my personal opinion.

 "Pretty decent headphones" 2009-10-22
By Waide Harris (Akron, OH)
I bought these when the speaker in my Philips Behind-the-Ear Sport Headphones died after using for about 3 yrs. The Philips were out of stock at Target, I originally bought those at Best Buy, but they don't carry them anymore. This type of product seems to come and go more than anything I have known. Trying to find the exact same model a couple of yrs later seems nearly impossible.

I researched a little and found these here at Amazon. They work OK, but the loudness is not as high as the Phillips and they begin to get uncomfortable on my ears after about 45 min of exercising. They stay on OK, but just not as comfortable as the Philips. Also the cord is very long and does not use the type of elastic that the Philips uses, so it requires you to wind around the iPod many times.

Overall decent but not as comfortable or as easy to use as the Philips. When these die I will try to go back to Philips Behind-the-Ear Sport Headphones if they are still made.
